‘MS. College Gameday guest player Terry’ Saban says, “I think I’ll beat Nick.”

College football fans will get a double dose of Saban on Saturday.

ESPN announced Friday that Terry Saban, the wife of legendary former Alabama coach and current “College Gameday” analyst Nick Saban, will be the guest player when the pregame road show comes to Tuscaloosa on Saturday.

“Hello Alabama fans, this is Ms. Terry,” she said in a video. “As you know, college game day is this Saturday for the Georgia-Alabama game in Tuscaloosa and I look forward to being the visiting selector. So we need all Crimson Tide fans to come out to Denny Chimes on Saturday morning. I’ve already worked on my selection and I think I’ll beat Nick. See you there.”

Nick Saban, who spent 28 years as a college head coach at Toledo (1990), Michigan State (1995-99), LSU (2000-04) and Alabama (2007-23) and won seven national titles, is one of the most successful recognizable and influential figures in college football history.

But he has often described his wife as the real boss of the family and his ultimate source of motivation. She is a beloved figure among Crimson Tide fans, players and the community at large.

When Saban retired in January, Alabama made sure to mention Ms. Terry.

“Coach Saban and wife Terry have touched countless lives in our community and the state of Alabama through their work through the Nick’s Kids Foundation,” said Alabama Director of Athletics Greg Byrne.

“Even though his time as our coach has come to an end, his legacy will live on forever. What an honor it was for us to have a front row seat to one of the best there ever was. A truly remarkable career for Coach Saban.”

Alabama President Stuart R. Bell called Ms. Terry a “great ambassador” for the University of Alabama who left an “indelible legacy.”

Saban’s Nick’s Kids Foundation distributed more than $12 million to students, teachers and children’s charities to over 150 charities. The Sabans have been married for more than 50 years.

Kickoff between No. 2 Georgia and No. 4 Alabama is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. The game can be seen on ABC.
