There may be no tougher opponent for Michigan State this year than the Buckeyes, a national title contender whose squad is considered one of the most talented in the sport. * No player on Michigan State’s roster has ever played a competitive game against Ohio State, and several suffered some of the worst defeats in program history in that matchup. But the Spartans players say they still enter the game with confidence.

* Quarterback Aidan Chiles says he is not discouraged after a three-interception game against Boston College, while Jonathan Smith called the performance a “learning experience.”
