Jaxson Dart makes SEC history with 4-week video game numbers

Jaxson Dart is no longer a mystery in Oxford.

Now Ole Miss’ senior quarterback is a star leading the fifth-ranked team in the country.

And on Saturday night, Dart took another step in his fame. With his 382-yard, 4-touchdown performance in a 52-13 home win over Georgia Southern, Dart now has the most passing yards in 4 games of any SEC quarterback in the last 20 seasons.

That’s a lot of years, and that’s a lot of standout SEC quarterbacks that Dart passed Saturday night as he helped the high-octane Rebels improve to 4-0 in 2024.

Dart has now racked up a staggering 1,554 yards through the first four games. He started August 31 against Furman with a 418-yard performance in a 76-0 win. Then in Week 2, Dart added 377 yards in a 52-3 win over Middle Tennessee.

Then in Week 3, Dart did the unthinkable, matching Week 2’s total with another 377 passing yards in a 40-6 win over Wake Forest. Then came the 382-yard pass Saturday night against Georgia Southern, when he just threw an interception and set the Rebels up for many meaningful games later that season as they attempted to reach the College Football Playoff for the first time in their history.

Dart has thrown 12 touchdown passes and just 2 interceptions in these record-breaking first 4 games of 2024.

In Week 5 next Saturday, Dart will look to keep the big numbers up as Ole Miss hosts Kentucky.
