These 9 Michigan universities are among the top 300 in the country, according to US News rankings

Nine Michigan universities are among the top 300 in the country in U.S. News and World Report rankings released Tuesday, Sept. 24.

The rankings used the methodology used here to give greatest consideration to peer assessment, graduation rates, graduate performance and financial resources per student.

The University of Michigan-Ann Arbor ranked first among Michigan universities, tied with Carnegie Mellon and Washington University in St. Louis for 21st place overall.

Ann Arbor University also ranked third among national public universities behind the University of California-Los Angeles at No. 15 and the University of California-Berkeley at No. 17.

Michigan State University is tied with a number of other institutions for 63rd place overall. No other public university landed in the top 100.

Michigan Technological University ranked No. 148 overall. Wayne State’s No. 179 mark and University of Detroit Mercy’s No. 189 mark rounded out the top 200 Michigan universities.

Grand Valley State University ranked No. 244, followed by Central Michigan University at No. 259.

Andrews University ranked No. 273 and Western Michigan University No. 288, placing them in the top 300.

Oakland, Ferris State, Eastern Michigan and the University of Michigan-Flint also appeared on the rankings.
