The Hawks sign Daeqwon Plowden, Jordan Bowden and Joirdon Nicholas

The Hawks have made three moves in recent days – two of which the team announced via press release Thursday afternoon.

First, the College Park Skyhawks traded for the rights to Daeqwon Plowden on September 5, sending Rob Baker II to the Santa Cruz Warriors, who spent last season with both the Skyhawks and in Las Vegas with the Hawks Summer League team.

Plowden has played for two different teams in the G League over the last two seasons, but earlier this summer he signed a two-way contract with the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors have now barred him from signing their draftee Quinten Post, paving the way for the Hawks to bring Plowden on board.

Plowden is a 6-foot-2, two-way winger who can fill the goal line as well as fly around and make stops on defense. He averaged 11.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 49 combined contests for the Osceola Magic in the G League last year.

Lauren Williams of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that his team is looking at an Exhibit 10 deal – a non-guaranteed deal that will likely ultimately land him with the Skyhawks.

Jordan Bowden should look somewhat familiar to Hawks fans. After starting the year with the Maine Celtics, he was a key member of the College Park Skyhawks throughout the 2023-24 season and also joined the Hawks for the five-game season in Las Vegas this summer. In 16 games with the Skyhawks last season, Bowden averaged 17.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game while shooting 50% from the field and 48% from three.

Cyro Asseo of HoopsHype reports that his deal also includes language in Exhibit 10:

Joirdon Nicholas was undrafted in 2023 but spent the season with the South Bay Lakers of the G League and the Zonkeys de Tijuana of the Mexican CIBACOPA League to showcase his basketball talent. Nicholas, a 6-foot-2 forward, is more of a rebounder and defensive specialist than a scorer.

The Atlanta Hawks release:
