ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The No. 25-ranked University of Michigan men’s soccer team (5-0-3, 1-0-2 Big Ten) will begin its two-game road swing with a trip to Piscataway, New Jersey, for a matchup against Rutgers completes (3-5-1, 0-2-0 Big Ten) on Saturday (Sept. 28) at 4 p.m. Conference play will be broadcast live on Big Ten Network.

Notes

• Michigan held UCLA to a 3-3 draw last Saturday (Sept. 21), extending its unbeaten start to eight games, its best season opener since 2007. Jason Bucknor scored two goals Bryce Blevins scored another goal in the six-goal draw.

• Despite the draw, UM remained in the United Soccer Coaches poll, finishing at No. 25 in the country in the latest rankings released Tuesday (Sept. 24).

• The Wolverines continue to perform well on offense, scoring first in all eight games and scoring 14 goals, tied for fourth in the Big Ten.

• Bryce Blevins and Soto are tied at the top of the table with 11 points. Soto assisted on two of three goals last time out, while Blevins scored once and had an assist in the equalizer against UCLA. Soto has a point in seven straight games and leads the conference with 0.88 assists per game.

• Michigan’s defense held its opponents’ shooting percentage below 30 percent and allowed just one second-half goal in eight games. Will Baker, Matthew Fisher And Nolan Miller started seven of eight games together as the main defender.

• Isaiah Goldson Checks in for third among Big Ten goaltenders with six or more appearances and a .739 save percentage. He is one of 10 goaltenders in the conference with 10 saves or more.

• Michigan will face Rutgers for the 14th time in program history and leads the series 8-3-2. The Wolverines won 3-2 in their last meeting on September 22, 2023.

• After facing the Scarlet Knights, Michigan returns to UM Soccer Stadium to face rival Ohio State on Oct. 4 at 7 p.m
