ThorSport Racing leads Truck Series practice in Richmond

So far, ThorSport Racing in Richmond, Virginia, is at the top of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

After a 20-minute practice session on Saturday afternoon, defending Truck Series champion Ben Rhodes led the speed charts, with teammates Ty Majeski and Jake Garcia in second and third place, respectively.

Three-time Truck Series champion Matt Crafton, who also drives for ThorSport, was 13th fastest in Saturday’s session.

Grant Enfinger and regular season points leader Christian Eckes rounded out the top five, while Stewart Friesen and Tyler Ankrum finished sixth and seventh, respectively. Taylor Gray, Ty Dillon and Daniel Dye rounded out the top 10.

Other notable finishes from Saturday’s practice session include Tanner Gray at 11th, Layne Riggs at 12th, Chase Purdy at 16th, Corey Heim at 23rd and Connor Zilisch at 31st.

Next up is Truck Series qualifying, which will air on FS1. The Truck Series will make its 16th appearance in 2024 on Saturday night, with the Clean Harbors 250 going green just after 7:30 p.m. ET. Coverage will be on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

The short track duel in Richmond will be the finale of the Truck Series regular season. Eckes currently leads Heim in the regular season championship by 50 points, while Tanner Gray holds the tenth and final provisional playoff spot by five points over Daniel Dye.

After the race in Richmond on Saturday, the field for the 2024 Truck Series playoffs will be set.
