Megalopolis has caused a stir because it includes a scene with a “live participant.” For the film’s opening weekend, Lionsgate is offering “The Ultimate Experience” screenings that include this live sequence. Standard screenings include a filmed version of the scene.

Megalopolis Streaming Release Date

Megalopolis will be released on Starz at some point, instead of Netflix or Disney+, followed by Peacock, given distributor Lionsgate’s licensing agreements.

Lionsgate has not yet announced a streaming release date for Megalopolis. Two of the distributor’s most recent films – The Strangers: Chapter One and Imaginary – had a gap of 136 and 180 days, respectively, between their theatrical and streaming debuts. If the distributor follows suit, Megalopolis would be added Starz between mid-February and the end of March 2025.
