After losing their undeniable star player, Kylian MbappeMany assumed PSG could face bigger challenges than usual this season given his move to Real Madrid on a free transfer in the summer.

However, things continue as usual Luis Enriqueis the best team in the world, having remained unbeaten in their first six games across all competitions this season.

They started the season particularly explosively, winning all of their first four games by a combined score of 16-3, but their results dipped slightly in their last two games.

The Parisians had to rely on an own goal in the 90th minute Paulo Gazzaniga narrowly triumphed 1-0 against Girona in their debut game of the 2024/25 Champions League before picking up their first points of the season in their final game against Reims.

Despite the narrower results, PSG were dominant in both games, significantly outscoring their opponents in expected goals, but they lacked the penetration to convert their chances.

In the absence of Mbappe and Goncalo RamosPSG, who have not played since his injury on matchday one, have largely played without a recognized striker, resulting in most of their goals coming from long range.

Consequently, Bradley Barcola And Ousmane Dembele have combined to score eight of PSG’s 17 league goals and Enrique will be hoping his wingers produce even more in the coming games to return to the dominant results they achieved at the start of the season.

As for Rennes, they have started this game with a fair start to the season and sit comfortably in mid-table with seven points from five games, two wins and a draw.

Julian StephenBarcelona’s men started the campaign comfortably by beating Lyon 3-0 at home to ensure a brilliant start to the season, but this was followed by two defeats in a row against Strasbourg and Reims.

Rennes bounced back with a 3-0 home win over Montpellier and a 1-1 draw against Lens, becoming one of only seven teams yet to suffer a home defeat and one of only two teams to equal this record in three home games could hold.

But that also means that Rennes has not yet scored a single point in the 2024/25 season. Stephan hopes his team can change things with a surprising result on Friday.

Desire Doue That is also questionable after the 19-year-old was sent off in the 65th minute of the last 1-1 draw against Reims Randal Kolo Muani could start through center for the first time this season.
