The latest Daniel Jones problem for the Giants – The man can’t throw a ball 20 yards in the air seems important for a quarterback

Aside from Malik Nabers being a star, all the flags and injuries, the only talking point I saw last night is that Daniel Jones throws a ball shorter than Weird Haircut Seth. Remember how bad that throw was?

Yes, that is our starting quarterback at the moment. I don’t even think he was terrible last night. He hits these intermediate passes, that’s important. But the fact that Daniel Jones can’t throw a ball more than 20 yards cost the Giants the game as much as anything else. The first big move for Nabers? That’s six if he gets a good pass:

In that free play against Darius Slayton, he underthrew him to such an extent that I suspected the ball had slipped. No. That’s exactly how Daniel Jones throws a deep ball now. It’s not even like Jones is running for his life there. The Giants offensive line is pretty decent! He has time to get into throws and, you know, be an NFL quarterback. But whether it’s an ACL injury, a neck injury or some other injury, Daniel Jones can’t throw a ball more than 20 yards in the air. That’s not even far. Children throw the ball 20 meters in the air.

The only solution I can think of for the rest of the season is simple. Bring in Drew Lock as the anti-Wildcat quarterback. Instead of drafting a running back that everyone knows is a run-a-thon, get Drew Lock, who everyone knows is likely to catapult him downfield. It has to work. I mean, we still see Wildcat’s work! What is the worst case scenario? An interception? I’ve experienced many of them.

We finally have an offensive line. We finally have two wide receivers who can make plays. Now we have a quarterback who is basically forced to throw every ball between 5 and 15 yards because that’s all he has in his arm. Good times!
