The current radar reading as of 6:20 p.m. shows the rainfall is over across Alabama on the eastern side of the state. The heaviest rain will fall in the southeastern quarter of the state, particularly southwest of Dothan and around Phenix City. A flash flood warning is in effect for portions of Coffee, Dale, Geneva and Houston counties until 12:15 a.m. Friday.

A tropical storm warning is in effect until 7 a.m. Friday for Barbour, Bullock, Chambers, Cherokee, Cleburne, Lee, Macon, Pike, Randolph and Russell counties in central Alabama, and Coffee, Dale, Geneva, Henry and Houston counties until further notice.

Sustained winds of 10-25 mph and gusts up to 40-50 mph and possibly higher are expected in the warning area. Damage to trees and power lines as well as minor structural damage is possible. Power outages are likely.

A wind advisory is in effect for all of northern Alabama until 7 a.m. Friday, for east-central counties in central Alabama until 7 a.m. Friday, and for some counties in the central portions of south Alabama and the southern halves of Baldwin and Mobile counties until tonight at 7 p.m. We can expect sustained winds of 10-25 mph and gusts up to 35 mph in the advisory area. Sporadic power outages are possible.

A flood warning is in effect for all northern Alabama counties until 7 a.m. Friday, and for all east and central central Alabama counties until 1 a.m. Friday.
