Danville, IL, September 16, 2024 – The tradition lives on. Danville Noon Kiwanis continues to look for ways to raise money for local children and youth organizations in our community. This year, the annual Danville Noon Kiwanis Pancake & Sausage Day event is expected to draw over 3,000 people to the David S. Plamer Arena. Through the generosity of sponsors, ticket sales and dedicated volunteers, thousands of dollars were donated to children’s charities. This year marks the 74th anniversary of this event.

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers committed to improving the world, one child at a time. Danville Noon Kiwanis has served our local community for over 100 years. They have invested thousands of dollars in youth and child care in the area. They currently have over 35 members who attend weekly meetings at the VFW in Danville every Thursday at 12 p.m.

“We are very grateful to those who continue to serve and support the annual Kiwanis Pancake Day,” said Dave Anderson, president of Danville Noon Kiwanis. “We want to make sure we recognize those who make this event possible and the agencies who work to have a positive impact on our local children.”

At their third annual fundraising day in April, over $18,000 was distributed to local children and youth organizations. Organizations that received money included Arts in the Park, Boys & Girls Club of Danville, CASA, Danville Bears Football Club, Danville Family YMCA, DHS Madrigal Singers, Danville Music Boosters, Dayspring Women’s & Children’s Shelter, Fair Hope Ministries and Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Food for the Children program, Girls Scouts of Central Illinois, Hooves of Hope, BHRA Key Club, Peer Court, Prairielands Council – Boy Scouts, Project Success, Salvation Army, Shop with a Cop, The Dwelling Place, The Hope Center, Vermilion County 4-H Federation, Vermilion County Conservation Foundation, Vermilion County Dare, Vermilion County Museum Society, Vermilion County Red White & Blue Program, Vermilion County Youth Orchestra, Women’s Care Clinic and various high school scholarships.
