Even celebrities can be amazed by Shania Twain, it seems!

Machine Gun Kelly took the stage at the People’s County Choice Awards on September 26 near the end of the two-hour show to perform his hit song “Lonely Road” with Jelly Roll. The song is a reinterpretation of the classic John Denver hit “Country Roads, Take Me Home.”

After the performance, Twain, who hosted the show, walked out to wrap things up. She hugged Machine Gun Kelly.

“That was great! I just love you,” she said, hugging the artist. Machine Gun Kelly replied, “I love you back!”

She went on to say that the song is one of her all-time favorite songs, without clarifying whether she was referring to Machine Gun Kelly and Jelly Roll’s version or the classic hit.

Machine Gun Kelly was about to walk away when Twain turned her attention to the camera to end the show – but then he stormed over again.

Twain looked confused when he returned and asked, “Will you sing with me?”

Instead, he leaned forward and spoke into her microphone.

“When I was growing up, your face was always in my dad’s car, the album cover – it was always there,” he said.

The moment was a surprise to Twain, who then suggested, “Stay with me while I stand here and say goodnight to everyone.”

After saying goodnight, Twain turned to MGK to hug him again as the credits rolled.

Viewers reacted pretty positively to MGK’s sweet moment with the country superstar.

“Like he just had to go back and take his snap with THE @ShaniaTwain and tell her how her face was always on his dad’s dashboard,” one person tweeted.

“MGK AND SHANIA TWAIN OH MY HEART,” another wrote on X.
