Cowboys earn 20-15 win over Giants, moving record to 2-2; Parsons and Nabers left the game with injuries

The Dallas Cowboys won their seventh straight game against the New York Giants on Thursday, defeating their division rival on the road 20-15.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott completed 22 of 27 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns, including a 55-yard scoring connection with CeeDee Lamb in the first half. And Dallas’ defense buckled but never broke, allowing just five field goals.

The Giants actually played a great game – until it came time to get into the end zone. New York had more first downs, passing yards and total yards than the Cowboys. The Giants also dominated time of possession, holding the ball for 35 minutes and 37 seconds.

But New York couldn’t stop the rides. The Giants settled for five field goals every time they entered Dallas territory, including twice in the red zone.

New York’s first drive after halftime was particularly discouraging. The Giants covered 77 yards in 11 plays over six minutes and 18 seconds. But after reaching the three-yard line, they opted to kick a short field goal instead of going for it on 4th-and-goal.

The lack of aggression cost New York, which only scored three points the rest of the half.

While the Giants had success in the passing game, the Cowboys held them to just 1.1 yards per carry on the ground.

Dallas scored both touchdowns in the first half before adding two field goals in the second half. Kicker Brandon Aubrey was 2 of 3 – missing from over 50 yards for the first time in his career late in the fourth.

Two stars also left the game in the last quarter. Cowboys defensive end Micah Parsons was sent off on the Giants’ second-to-last drive after getting tangled up with several offensive linemen on a third-down pass rush. And New York star rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers suffered a concussion one play after Parsons left the game.

The Cowboys improved to 2-2 with the win. The Giants are now 1-3.
