Feverish fans flocked to Forest Hills Stadium for the Grammy Award-winning Kings of Leon’s sold-out concert, showcasing a lively selection from their extensive catalog. Dream-pop and electro-rock duo Phantogram opened the show and set an uplifting mood for the rest of the night.

Part of their Can We Please Have Fun tour – to coincide with the release of their latest album on May 10th – Kings of Leon, consisting of family members Caleb (vocals/guitar), Nathan (drums), Jared (bass) and Matthew Followill (guitar ) have proven that their infectious energy has remained constant since breaking into the mainstream with “Only by the Night” in 2008. During their performance, the band revisited fan favorites that have solidified their loyal following over the past two decades. The audience erupted in excitement during performances of “Sex on Fire,” “Super Soaker,” and “Use Somebody.”

Caleb turned to the audience in the middle of the show and thanked them for their support: “So after tonight we still have 10 shows to go. It’s been a hell of a year… a hell of a tour. I really don’t want it to end. I know you chose to be here tonight rather than at home with a cold drink, and that means a lot to us. Thank you.”

To add to the excitement, multi-platinum selling rock band performed “The Face” as a special tribute to their New York date. It was only the second time they performed the deeply emotional track live since 2014, bringing many viewers to tears. They also wowed the audience with their lead single “Mustang” from their latest album.

The result is confirmed and undeniable: Queens had a lot of fun and thanked KOL for kindly asking the question.

Can We Please Have Fun is now available on streaming platforms. For those wishing to experience Kings of Leon on the road to conclude their tour, tickets can be purchased at kingsofleon.com.
