The Seattle Mariners joined the Seattle Kraken and Seattle Sounders FC on Wednesday in condemning Macklemore for his anti-American remark at an anti-Israel event.

The Mariners released a statement on the matter following the Kraken and Sounders.

“We are aware of the incident and agree with the other teams in the city. Sports and music should unite us, not divide us,” the team said on FOX 13 Seattle. “We continue to monitor and research the latest developments.”

Macklemore has ties to the Kraken and Sounders. He is part of each team’s ownership group. The two organizations said in a joint statement earlier this week that they are “evaluating” their ties to the Seattle-based rapper.

“We believe that sport brings people together and unites us. “We are aware of Macklemore’s increasingly divisive comments and they do not reflect the values of our respective ownership groups, leagues or organizations,” the teams said Monday, via KOMO News.

He joined the Sounders ownership group in August 2019 and became part of the Kraken ownership group in April 2022.

“We are currently reviewing our joint options on this matter,” the statement continued.

Macklemore was performing at the Palestine Will Live Forever Festival in Seattle when he made the controversial comments.

MACKLEMORE DECLARES “F— AMERICA” TO FILL UP AT CONCERT IN SEATTLE HELD A UN AGENCY WITH ALLEGED CONNECTIONS TO HAMAS

“Say it directly. I won’t stop you. I’m not going to stop you,” Macklemore said, appearing to refer to chants from the crowd.

“Yeah, F— America,” the Grammy-winning artist said, sending the audience into cheers. The video was shared on X by journalist Cam Higby.

Macklemore released a lengthy statement on Wednesday about the backlash, admitting he made a mistake out of anger but still offering his support to the Palestinians.

“I’ve already slipped once in front of everyone. I am sure I will do it again,” the statement said. “But they will not silence my voice, and they will not close my heart. I lost publicity, I lost shows, I lost business relationships. I am still here and steadfast in my support for a ‘Free Palestine.'”
