In case you missed the announcement last week, Amazon’s October Prime Day is returning in just two weeks: Tuesday, October 8th through Wednesday, October 9th. Check out my Prime Day cheat sheet if you want a complete refresher, but for those just joining in, I’d like to address this: Amazon is hosting Prime Day once again, this time with a little holiday twist. And just like normal Prime Day, these so-called Big Deal Days also start a little earlier.

A quick note about these “early” deals: It’s not entirely clear what’s on sale at Amazon right now and what’s on sale early for Prime Day. There everything could Since this is an early Prime Day deal, I mostly stuck to Strategist-approved items that are marked down at especially low prices.

Since we still have two weeks until the sale, In my opinion, there aren’t many offerings worth your time yet – aside from Amazon-owned devices and in-house brands. These are typically the first items to go on sale during these events and they usually remain on sale until the end. But I’ll be back any day before Prime Day in October to announce more good early bird discounts as they come along. Since there aren’t many good deals yet, I’ve also rounded up some of the items that I strongly suspect will be on sale this year based on the deals so far.

Some of the best early bird discounts are available on Amazon’s own devices. So far, the Fire HD tablets seem to be the most worthwhile items. This is the cheapest I’ve ever had always I saw this model.

If Prime Day in October is anything like the last two years, there will be plenty of gifts, especially toys, on sale. There is already a 40 percent discount on the Fire tablet for children when purchasing gifts Extra early.

Another Amazon deal: This HD TV that connects to all your Alexa devices is again 35 percent cheaper, just like it was before Prime Day last October. I don’t typically see TVs on sale outside of the Black Friday and Prime Day windows, so now is a good time to snag a cheap TV while it’s in stock. (And if you skipped buying one during dorm shopping season, it would make a lovely gift.)

Bissell’s Little Green Carpet Cleaner is always a bestseller with our readers on Prime Day. This heavy-duty version is already around 30 percent cheaper and is unlikely to be available any cheaper during the sale.

During Prime Day in July, senior writer Liza Corsillo declared Graco’s convertible car seat the most expensive item to purchase during the sale because “it can be used from the newborn stage through elementary school.” It’s your pick for the best affordable convertible nursing seat, and right now it’s already $50 off.

Like every year, I expect many Strategist bestsellers, like Laneige lip balm and Crest teeth whitening strips, to come back into stores. I’m also hoping Malin+Goetz does some deals – I bought one of their perfumes at a 20 percent discount last July and wear it all the time. There are also usually lots of Melissa & Doug toys, household items like trash bags and toilet paper, and a ton of wellness items that are discounted during Prime Day.
