Giants rookie WR Malik Nabers “had a lot of fun” in the sensational start: “Dream comes true”

So far, Nabers has been a dream come true for a long-stagnant Giants offense, giving fans something to get excited about and dynamic production that has long been missing – or never seen before.

Although the Giants lost their first two games of the season, Nabers provided highlights and attention. Now Big Blue is celebrating its first win of the season, a 21-15 triumph over the Cleveland Browns in which Nabers had eight catches for 78 yards and two touchdowns.

According to NFL Research, the 21-year-old became the youngest wide receiver in league history with two TD catches in a game. Those eight balls also included two extraordinary grabs: the first, when he drove over Browns cornerback Martin Emerson for a 28-yard gain down the sideline; the second was a beautiful 3-yard plunge in which he ran for the ball before twisting his body to put both feet into the end zone.

“They were good catches, but I made some much better catches,” said Nabers, the sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. “It doesn’t surprise me, it’s just the way I play, that’s who I am.”

After his recent performance, Nabers enters Thursday night’s Week 4 opener against the visiting Dallas Cowboys with a league-high 23 catches, 271 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Those numbers made Nabers the first player in league history to record 20-plus catches and three or more TD grabs in his first three career games, according to NFL Research.

Now Nabers is set to make his prime-time debut, but he shrugs off seeing it as just another game against another team.

“It’s a normal game,” he said of Thursday night’s game.

And it doesn’t matter if you play against the Cowboys, no matter how famous America’s team may be.

“It’s football,” he said. “A game is a game. Every time I go out, a game is a game. No matter what day it is, a game is a game.”
