The Americans are on track to win their 10th straight Presidents Cup.

Scottie Scheffler and the U.S. team pulled off a rare opening-session victory at the Royal Montreal on Thursday, securing a 5-0 lead in the biennial event in Quebec. It was the third time they won the opening session and the first time since 2000.

All but one of the games were close until the end, and the international team is far from out of the game. However, they will now have to make a big move at the start of Friday’s foursomes if they are to have any chance of securing an upset win.
