Spurs star Johnson continues his incredible form shortly after Dragusin red

Brennan Johnson continued his incredible winning streak when he scored the opener in the 12th minute of Tottenham’s Europa League game against Qarabag on Thursday night.

The goal was a sweet relief for Tottenham, just four minutes after Radu Dragusin was shown an early red card for bringing down Qarabag striker Juninho as he ran towards goal.

Johnson’s chance came thanks to excellent pressure from his Spurs teammates high up the pitch, with Dominic Solanke beating Julio Romao before feeding to the Wales international, who made no mistake with the finish.

Johnson has now scored three goals in his last three appearances for Spurs in all competitions after deleting his social media profiles due to online abuse from fans.

That’s as many goals as Johnson has scored in his last 19 appearances for Spurs and the perfect opportunity to silence his critics.

“A month ago Johnson would have missed this. He’s scored three of his last three goals,” former Republic of Ireland striker Clinton Morrison told Sky Sports.
