Ryan Reynolds has addressed his future as Deadpool in the Marvel Cinematic Universe following the success of his latest film. Deadpool and wolverine.

The 47-year-old plays Wade Wilson, Hugh Jackman returns as Wolverine after his character in Logan in 2017. It is on track to become the highest-grossing film of the year, and fans are already discussing tiny details about the film.

Leaded by Night at the Museum Produced by Shawn Levy, the film follows the superheroes as they reluctantly team up to stop a threat to their home universe.

Reynolds returned as Deadpool after a six-year hiatus, following his first film as the sarcastic superhero in 2016 with a sequel in 2018.

However, the actor is unsure if he will ever take on the role of the popular character again.

“I would say Shawn and I were pretty clear,” Reynolds said Colliders.

“I think in the most loving sense, because the biggest uptown problem a person can have is a studio like this saying, ‘What’s next?’ or ‘How can we do something different?’

“But this film was made as a total experience. It wasn’t meant to be an advert for another film. It wasn’t meant to be any of those things. And I think I really enjoy making a film like that.

“But honestly, right now I have no idea if I’ll ever wear that Deadpool suit again – I hope I do – but I don’t know. Now it’s time to just hang it up for a while and see what happens next.”

Meanwhile, director Levy said he did not shoot the new film because he was “under pressure.”

“A lot of people have asked me, ‘Were you under pressure to serve on the next film or prepare something? avenger?’

“To Disney or Marvel’s credit, they never asked us to deliver anything more than a really satisfying, self-contained story. And that’s exactly what we did with their support. As for the future, only time will tell.”

Critics were divided about the film, with reviews ranging from “boring and annoying” to proof that there is still life in the Marvel franchise.

The IndependentLouis Chilton was clearly concerned when he wrote: “We call Deadpool and Wolverine a film because it is released in cinemas and is two hours long, but apart from these formalities, in terms of intention it has almost nothing in common with a conventional blockbuster.

“The problem is not that Marvel tells its story poorly – it’s that Marvel has no interest in telling a story well. Marvel is solely interested in preserving and solidifying the Marvel brand, its ability to survive as a product and as an advertisement – a snake biting its own tail.”
