The cast of 7. Heaven speak out against their former TV father, Stephen Collins.

Before we dive into the pilot episode of the hit WB/CW drama, Beverley Mitchell, David Gallagher And Mackenzie Rosman introduced a new episode of her podcast “Catching Up with the Camdens” with a note about Collins, who admitted to sexually abusing three minors in 2014.

“Before we get into this episode, we want to let you know that we see all of your comments and know how excited you all are for the rerun. “So that’s exactly what we’re going to do,” Mitchell, who played Lucy Camden, said at the start of the episode. “But before we get into that, we think it’s important that we say something about Stephen Collins.”

“Any form of abuse, sexual abuse of any kind, is inexcusable. And victims of abuse need to be shown compassion and support,” added Gallagher, who played Simon Camden.

The cast of 7th Heaven has come a long way since the series ended in 2007 after eleven seasons. The WB drama ran from August 1996 to May 2007, with later seasons airing on The CW. Rosman, best known for her role as Ruthie Camden, said: “When we watch these episodes again it would be impossible not to talk about Stephen because he was such a big part of the show and our lives. But we want to be clear that we have not had any inappropriate experiences with Stephen.”

Mitchell, 43, assured fans that Collins, 76, “will not be on this podcast.”

“We do not excuse or condone his behavior,” Mitchell added. “With this podcast we want to reach you, our fans, relive the nostalgia of the 90s and share our best memories 7. Heaven.”

Collins played family patriarch Reverend Eric Camden 7. Heavenwhich ran for 11 seasons from 1996 to 2007. The drama follows the lives of Collins’ character, his wife Annie and their children. The ensemble cast also included Jessica Biel, Barry Watson And Catherine Hicks.

In December 2014, Collins admitted to sexually abusing three underage girls after TMZ released an audio recording in which he revealed his transgressions in a marriage counseling session with his ex-wife Faye Grant. He said the three incidents took place between 1973 and 1994.

“I am a flawed human being,” Collins said in an interview with Katie Couric at the time. “In church, it’s actually one of the things that I love about church… it’s really one of the most important things about the Christian faith, you know, Christ said in so many ways, ‘Bring me that… what’s broken about you .’ ‘Bring it’ and most people are broken in some way.”

He continued: “Most people manage it, have to, or choose to hide it.” This is what came out. I didn’t choose this to come out. I didn’t want to have to deal with these things publicly. … I’ve dealt with them very, very deeply and deeply in my personal life, but I think I’m a flawed human being and I’ve done everything I could to fix them.”
