Kevin Durant reacts to Derrick Rose’s retirement

The NBA world has reacted to the retirement of former Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose. On Thursday morning, Rose officially announced his retirement from basketball on Instagram.

There has been an outpouring of support for Rose in recent hours, with many former and current players praising him. LeBron James, someone who had many fights with Derrick Rose, posted about the retirement of the youngest MVP in NBA history.

Shortly after, Phoenix Suns stars Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal both commented on one of Rose’s Instagram posts.

Via Durant: “One of the greatest that ever graced a court. Thank you for sharing your gifts with the world. I can’t wait to see what’s next. 🫡”

“One of the greatest to ever grace the court,” Durant said with a greeting emoji. “Thank you for sharing your gifts with the world. I can’t wait to see what you get next.”

“LEGEND!” with a single rose emoji, Bradley Beal said.

Rose uploaded a series of posts to Instagram, including a long message thanking basketball for what it has given him.

“Thank you, my first love,” Rose said. “You believed in me through the ups and downs, my constant when everything else seemed uncertain. You showed me what love really means. You turned the yard into my sanctuary, a home where I could express myself freely.”

Rose ended his NBA career after playing 15 seasons in the league, averaging 17.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game.
