Harris mocks Trump’s obsession with her McDonald’s job in MSNBC interview: ‘I made the fries’

Kamala Harris worked as a burger chef at McDonald’s during her college years, while Donald Trump continues to baselessly claim that the Vice President is lying about her summer job.

Harris has repeatedly pointed to her brief stint at the fast-food chain since rising to the top of the Democratic ticket before taking her first job as a lawyer in the 1980s. If elected in the 2024 election, she would make history as the first U.S. president to have worked at McDonald’s.

However, an irritated Trump has repeatedly dismissed Harris’s appointment as “sham.”

The vice president sat down with MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle for her first one-on-one interview on the network since becoming the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee, and at one point poked fun at the former president’s obsession with her time at the Golden Arches.

“I just want to ask you if you can answer that with a yes or no,” Ruhle said. “Have you ever been served two beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions…”

“I did,” Harris replied. “It was no small task, I made the fries.”

She continued, “One reason I even talk about having worked at McDonald’s is because there are people in our country who work at McDonald’s and are trying to support a family. I worked there as a student.”

Harris has repeatedly compared her humble beginnings to Trump’s wealthy background, suggesting that the former president is out of touch with the average citizen.

“I think part of the differences between me and my opponent lie in our views on the needs of the American people and what our responsibility is to meet those needs.”

Harris’ rebuttal comes after Trump again mocked his Democratic rival for her job at McDonald’s during his campaign rally in Indiana, Pennsylvania, on Monday.

The former president said he wanted to stop by a fast-food joint to try out a little “the French fry thing” and “see what it’s like.”

“She never worked there! And these fake news reporters will never report on it, they don’t want to report on it because they’re fake,” he added. “They’re fake.”

Trump first stated at the end of August at a conference of the organization Moms for Liberty that Harris had lied about her career as a chef.

Since then, he has made numerous social media posts accusing Harris of lying about her time at McDonald’s, including a poorly edited photo of the vice president wearing the iconic Golden Arches cap at a restaurant.

On Thursday, Trump again lashed out at the vice president during a tirade on Truth Social, claiming again that her former job at McDonald’s was a lie.

“Comrade Kamala Harris just put up an ad claiming that IVF is banned in certain areas because of me. That is another LIE, just like her working at McDonald’s was a LIE!” he said.
