District 230 is celebrating the remarkable academic achievements of five students – four of whom have earned the prestigious title of 2025 National Merit Semifinalists and one outstanding high school senior has accomplished the rare feat of earning a perfect ACT score. These milestones reflect not only individual brilliance, but also the dedication and hard work that thrives in all of our schools.

Semi-finalists
According to the NMSP, approximately 16,000 semifinalists nationwide will be recognized for their exceptional academic achievements. The semifinalists represent less than 1% of high school graduates in the United States. They will remain in contention for National Merit Scholarship Awards in 2025 and will compete nationwide for nearly $26 million in scholarships to be awarded next spring.

Perfect ACT
Only about a quarter of students who take the ACT achieve the top score. According to the ACT, achieving a top score on the ACT is sufficient proof to any college or university that you are ready for the academic demands ahead.
