Melania Trump has revealed that on their first date, Donald took her on a one-and-a-half-hour car ride to show her a property he wanted to buy.

In her first interview in two years, the 54-year-old former First Lady spoke openly about her first relationship with the former president.

Mrs Trump said that after she initially refused to give Trump, 78, her number, the two spoke on the phone while she was on a modeling shoot in the Caribbean and arranged their first date upon her return.

The meeting also included a one-and-a-half-hour drive to Bedford, New Jersey, where Trump, who made his money in real estate, was able to view a property he was interested in purchasing.

“So he combined business with a first date with me,” she told Fox News.

“And it was very nice because we were alone in the car for an hour, an hour and a half, the two of us, and there was no other noise, no other people, because he was already well-known and a celebrity at that time.”

She continued: “It was really nice to be just the two of us.”

Memories can be different

The details of the couple’s early romance differ from those previously revealed by the former First Lady.

In 2016, she told Harper’s Bazaar that on their first date, she and Trump went to dinner and then to Moomba, a New York restaurant and lounge.

“It was a great place, wasn’t it? I remember that night like it was two months ago,” she told the magazine.

In the wide-ranging interview with Fox, which comes ahead of the release of her new book, “Melania,” Mrs. Trump also revealed that she saw the former president’s shooting on television.

“I ran to the TV, rewound it and watched it,” she said, referring to the moment a gunman opened fire at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July, shooting the former president in the ear.

“I didn’t actually see it live, but maybe, you know, three minutes, a couple of minutes later. But when I saw it, it was, you know, just… Nobody really knew. Because when you see him lying on the ground and you don’t know what really happened.”
