Who is “Golden Bachelorette” star Chock Chapple?

Chock is an insurance executive from Wichita, Kansas, according to his ABC bio. His LinkedIn profile reveals that he grew up in the small town of Garden Plain, Kansas, and has been president of Insurance Services Group, LLC since 2020. The “full-service” insurance agency offers “commercial, personal, health and safety/HR services” and specializes in “insurance for family-owned and operated businesses.”

Previously, Chock owned CIG Insurance from 2004 to 2020. Both his father and grandfather worked in the insurance industry, and Chock earned his degrees in industrial relations and general business administration from Kansas State University.

Chock was previously married to Heather ChappleIt is unclear when they divorced, but she helped him start CIG Insurance in 2003 and was apparently still involved in the business in 2008.

“Heather Chapple focused on building the business by selling policies to outdoor recreation companies,” says an article in the Business magazines said at the time.

Heather has since remarried with Michael Sharpe and now calls herself Heather Gillingham-Sharpe. She is Senior Vice President of NFP Insurance Company and lives in Washington.

“Due to Covid, two wedding dates were cancelled so we got married in the living room of our house in WA,” Heather revealed on Instagram in June 2024.

Chock Chapple’s fiancée died of brain cancer

After divorcing Heather, Chock became engaged to Katherine “Kathy” Elizabeth White Goree. She died of brain cancer in January 2022.

“Kathy was an absolutely incredible mother, sister, daughter and better half,” Chock wrote on Facebook at the time. “Super K was full of love, she lost her battle with cancer without ever complaining or regretting anything. Kathy’s love for her family, friends and furry friends was unmatched. She loved sports, especially KU basketball, as well as her children’s games over the past 15 years. Kathy very rarely missed a Charlie or Addie’s game and would often turn off the TV if KU was behind at halftime – the stress of a potential KU loss was just too much for her.”

He continued, “Kathy was the rock of her family, I have lost a great friend, and our community has lost one of its best kept secrets. Kathy’s friends will always be near and dear to her. They truly enjoyed each other and always had stories of fun and adventure. A special, sincere thank you goes out to those who cared for Kathy over the last five months, and I apologize in advance if I have forgotten anyone: Crystal, Susan, Sharon, Sonja, Silvia, Tom Jr., Tom Sr., Nikki, Kristy, Addie, and Charlie.”

Kathy was only 52 years old when she died. She had two children, Charlie and Addison.

Chock Chapple’s Hobbies

Chock loves to stay active through sports. He is a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan and said shopping is his “secret vice.” “He can’t resist a good deal,” Chock’s ABC bio states. He is also a “self-proclaimed grill master.”
