Eduardo Xol, star of ‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,’ dies at 58: reports

Eduardo Xol, who starred in “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” in the early 2000s, has died at the age of 58 after allegedly being stabbed to death in Southern California.

According to information on the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office website, he died on Friday, September 20. His death came 10 days after he was reportedly stabbed to death in his Palm Springs apartment.

In a statement to FOX News Digital, a Palm Springs Police officer said they received a call for help from a man around 5:41 a.m. on Sept. 10. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Xol suffering from multiple injuries. Xol told authorities he had been stabbed but was unable to identify a suspect.

TMZ said he was taken to a nearby hospital in serious but stable condition, but he later succumbed to his injuries.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our beloved Eduardo Xol. As his family, we know his kindness touched the lives of so many. We ask that this kindness be reciprocated now so that our privacy is respected as we process our grief. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in Eduardo’s name to the Lupus Foundation of America, as he spent so much of his life serving others,” his family said in a statement to TMZ.

Both FOX News and TMZ reported that Richard Joseph Gonzales was identified as a suspect. He has since been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the alleged stabbing.
