The designer of “Extreme Makeover Home Edition” was 58

Eduardo Xol, a television designer on Extreme Makeover: Home Editionhas died. He was 58.

According to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department report, Xol died Friday at Desert Regional Medical Center after sustaining injuries in an alleged stabbing in Palm Springs on Sept. 10.

The department did not provide a specific cause of death for the reality TV star and referred all inquiries to Palm Springs police. Palm Springs police had received the first call about the reported stabbing 10 days earlier and therefore could not be reached for immediate comment.

Xol’s time of injury on September 10 was determined by the Sheriff’s Department to be 5:41 a.m. According to the Desert Sun According to the newspaper, Palm Springs police charged 34-year-old Richard Joseph Gonzales with attempted murder after he reported the stabbing.

“We are deeply shocked by the tragic loss of our beloved Eduardo Xol,” said a statement from his family, which The Hollywood Reporter“We know his kindness touched the lives of so many. We ask that this kindness be reciprocated now so that our privacy is respected as we process our grief. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in Eduardo’s name to the Lupus Foundation of America, as he spent so much of his life serving others.”

Before he became a television designer, Extreme Makeover: Home EditionXol studied theater at UCLA and was a keyboardist and drummer. He also produced musical theater and comedy revues that toured the United States

He was born in Los Angeles to Mexican-American parents and has also worked on TV music and video projects in Latin America.
