The Orioles had a hilarious gift for Jackson Holliday after their team secured a playoff spot

When an MLB team secures a spot in the playoffs, the team usually celebrates by spraying and drinking champagne in the locker room.

However, when the Baltimore Orioles secured a spot in the postseason with their 5-3 victory over the New York Yankees on Tuesday, second baseman Jackson Holliday was unable to attend the champagne celebration because he is only 20 years old.

However, the Orioles have found a solution to allow Holliday to participate with his teammates.

When Holliday arrived in the locker room, the Orioles surprised him with “birdbath water” that looked like a champagne bottle but had “0.0% alcohol for Orioles under 21” written on it.

The team also had a corner set up specifically for Holliday, with a sign that read, “Baby’s First Clinchmas 2024.” The “birdbath water” sat in a tub of ice next to baby bottles. A baby jersey of Holliday hung with the Orioles logos that children had colored in. It was quite a setup.

Holliday will turn 21 in December, so he will be eligible to attend all of the Orioles’ champagne celebrations in the coming seasons.

The Orioles secured the first wild card spot in the American League. The wild card round begins on Tuesday, October 1st.
