During the premiere of the 26th season of “The Voice” on Monday, country legend Reba McEntire made an unforgettable step that everyone, including his coaching colleagues, Snoop Doggweeping.

After contestant Kendall Eugene poured his heart out into a soulful performance of Morgan WallaceNo one turned a chair when he sang “Don’t Thank Jesus,” but that didn’t stop the coaches from praising him and encouraging him to try again next season.

Reba McEntire, however, did not want to leave it at that and immediately regretted not turning her chair around.

Reba decided to intervene in a way no one expected. She told Eugene, “I liked everything about it,” to which he told her she “should have turned around.”

“I wanted to say the exact same words,” the singer said. “I don’t understand why I didn’t turn around.”

But she wasn’t done yet! In a jaw-dropping moment, she announced that she was about to make The Voice history by becoming the first coach ever to use the Coach Replay button.

This brand new feature allows coaches to change their minds after a blind audition if they didn’t hang with the chair the first time around – giving Eugene a second chance that no one expected.

“We have something new this year, a Coach Replay button. I’m going to use mine,” she said as she pressed her button, which immediately brought Eugene to tears. Even Snoop Dogg couldn’t hold back, visibly moved by this emotional moment that surprised the entire room.

“Wow! Go and hug this man,” he said.

“I love the song that Kendall sang. And after the song was over, I felt kind of numb. I knew in my heart that I wanted him on my team,” Reba told her fellow coaches. “I’m so glad that for the first time ever, we have a Coach Replay button. It’s the second chance for the coaches after we realized we missed that moment.”

When the camera panned back to Snoop, he could be seen wiping tears from his face.

After her big win with Asher HaVon in season 25, Reba is now back in her red chair for the third year in a row. She coaches alongside Gwen Stefani, Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg.

“She’s a magnet for talent,” Snoop said of Reba. “She always says the right things… Reba Magnet Hoops, that’s what we call her on set.”

“She doesn’t even have to say anything,” he continued. “Sometimes people just come to be with her.”

Reba’s journey on “The Voice” began in the show’s first season in 2011, when she served as a combat advisor for Team Blake SheltonIn February last year, she made a triumphant return as a mega mentor, offering valuable advice to the contestants as they prepared for the thrilling knockout rounds.

By a twist of fate, the 68-year-old revealed in 2020 that she had actually been approached to coach the first season of “The Voice.” However, she turned down the offer and gave her place to Shelton. Now, in a role reversal, Reba has taken Shelton’s place after he announced his retirement.

“I’ve been wrestling with this for a while and have decided it’s time for me to step away from ‘The Voice’ after season 23,” he shared on Instagram at the time. “This show has changed my life for the better and will always feel like home to me.”

“I’m pretty sure it was a highly rated show in Holland, and I watched the tape and said, ‘No, I’m not doing this,’ because I don’t think I could ever tell someone they’re terrible or that they should get another job or that they like their night job,” she said during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.” “I couldn’t do that day in and day out. I couldn’t. So I turned it down.”

However, McEntire later confessed that she regretted her decision after witnessing the show’s immense success. “After watching a successful show that’s been running for, what, 15 years? Um, yeah! I was like, crap, I should have done that,” she added.
