Kim Porter’s children with Diddy criticize conspiracy theories about her death

The children of Kim Porter and Sean “Diddy” Combs are speaking out after conspiracy theories about their deaths and fake memoirs circulated online.

Christian “King” Combs, twins D’Lila and Jessie Combs, and Quincy Brown, whom Combs adopted, released a social media statement Tuesday night calling the rumors and conspiracies “simply untrue” and “hurtful.” Combs has three other children from other relationships.

“We have heard so many hurtful and false rumors about our parents, Kim Porter and Sean Combs’ relationship, as well as the tragic death of our mother, that we feel the need to speak out,” they wrote in a joint post.

The statement follows a spate of rumours surrounding an alleged book written by the late model, including a report in the Daily Mail earlier this month. The 60-page book, titled Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey to Justice, From the Other Side, is said to be based on a collection of diary entries saved on a USB stick and sent to producer Chris Todd before her death.

Although the Daily Mail noted that Todd provided no proof of the book’s authenticity, it was published earlier this month and is said to contain details of Combs’ partying, illegal activities and verbal abuse of Porter.

The book is also said to contain a “final entry” after she died of pneumonia in 2018, with the author suggesting Combs’ involvement.

Porter’s children make things clear.

“Claims that our mother has written a book are simply false,” they continued. “She has not, and anyone claiming to have a manuscript is misrepresenting themselves. Please also understand that any so-called ‘friend’ speaking on behalf of our mother or her family is not a friend, nor does he have her best interests at heart.”

On Monday, Brown’s father, singer Al B. Sure!, referenced the fake memoir on social media and called for an investigation into Porter’s death. His Instagram post is still online as of Wednesday morning.

Combs had an on-off relationship with Porter from 1994 to 2007. She died in August 2018 at the age of 47 after being found unconscious in her San Fernando Valley home.

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office confirmed at the time that she died of pneumonia. “The cause of death was ruled natural,” said a statement from Sarah Ardalani, former spokeswoman for the Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.

“Our lives were shattered when we lost our mother,” their statement continued. “She was our world and nothing has been the same since her death. Although it was incredibly difficult to understand how she could have been taken from us so young, the cause of death has long been established. There was no crime.”

The group also asked for peace in the face of their ongoing grief.

“We are deeply saddened that the world has made a spectacle out of the most tragic event of our lives. Our mother should be remembered as the beautiful, strong, kind and loving woman she was. Her memory should not be tarnished by horrific conspiracy theories,” the statement concluded. “We ask everyone to respect our mother Kim Porter and honor her legacy so she can rest in peace. She deserves it. We love and miss you, Mom. Quincy, Christian, Jessie and D’Lila.”

Porter’s name has come up in lawsuits against Combs for sexual assault, including in singer Dawn Richard’s lawsuit earlier this month. She claimed she saw Porter’s face smashed as she left a music studio crying in 2005. And in April Lampros’ lawsuit in May, she claimed Combs forced her and her then-girlfriend Porter to take Ecstasy and have sex with each other before raping Lampros.

And in a May Rolling Stone investigation, two sources claimed the music mogul was physically abusive to her. Former Bad Boy rapper Mark Curry added: “I remember Kim going through a lot. When you live around her, you see the toxic relationship. … I think every relationship he’s had and I’ve been around him has been like that.”
