Family of New Jersey native Bruce Willis fears he “may not have much time left”

Bruce Willis’ family isn’t sure how much time they’ll have with the legendary actor, as the New Jersey native’s battle with frontotemporal dementia has worsened, according to InTouch Weekly.

Willis’ health issues first came to light in 2022 when he announced his retirement from acting. A source told InTouch Weekly, “The disease has progressed to the point where his family fears they won’t have much time left with Bruce. They wonder if he will even live to see his 70th birthday.”

The 69-year-old grew up in Salem County and attended Penns Grove High School before studying drama at Montclair State University and dropping out to pursue a career as an actor. He played John McClane in the action series Die Hard and is also popular for his roles in Pulp Fiction, The Fifth Element, Armageddon and The Sixth Sense.

Symptoms of frontotemporal dementia include walking and speech difficulties as well as personality changes.

“He’s stable, which is good and hard in this situation,” she told hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb. “There are painful days, but there is so much love.”
