A new season has brought a new look for Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown.

The three-time All-Star showed off his freshly manicured beard at the team’s media day on Tuesday, but promised that his beard will “come back” at some point.

Brown’s beard has been a trademark of his look throughout his NBA career, and he’s even talked about how people have asked him about the secrets to perfectly groomed facial hair.

At a performance on GQIn “10 Things I Can’t Live Without” (starts at 5:15), Brown didn’t go into detail about what he did to have an ideal beard. He did, however, mention that he used a beard comb and “put berries and juices in it to make sure it’s lush.”

The new look for Brown comes amid heightened expectations as he enters his ninth NBA season, coming off the 2023-24 season in which he won the Eastern Conference Finals and was named NBA Finals MVP, leading the Celtics to the franchise’s 18th title.

Brown averaged 23.9 points on 51.6 percent shooting, 5.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game in 19 starts during the postseason.

The Celtics and Denver Nuggets are the first two teams to hold their media days for the 2024-25 season. Denver will hold its media day on Thursday. The two teams will open the preseason schedule on October 4 and 6 in Abu Dhabi.

Unfortunately, Brown will not be able to travel with the Celtics because of his full beard.
