Janel Grant’s lawyer responds to Vince McMahon’s statement in the documentary series “Mr. McMahon”

Janel Grant’s representation has released a statement on social media regarding Vince McMahon’s message.

Grant’s attorney, Ann Callis, responded Monday to McMahon’s social media post dismissing the series, which premieres Tuesday night, briefly mentioning the lawsuit and calling it “an affair that I have ended.”

“Vince McMahon physically and emotionally abused, sexually assaulted and human trafficked Janel Grant for over two years. To label his horrific and criminal behavior an ‘affair’ is delusional and nothing more than a sad attempt to salvage his ruined reputation,” Callis’ statement said. “Although Ms. Grant has not seen the docuseries ‘Mr. McMahon,’ we hope it shines a bright light on his heinous and criminal actions by accurately portraying the reality of his abusive and exploitative behavior. “Ms. Grant will no longer allow herself to be silenced by McMahon.”

“While her story is deeply disturbing and extraordinarily painful, it has the potential to help other victims of abuse find their voice. We want to hold McMahon, John Laurinaitis and WWE accountable and give Ms. Grant her day in court.”

In his statement, McMahon said the goal of the documentary series was to confuse viewers between his on-air character “Mr. McMahon” and himself.

In January, Grant filed her lawsuit against McMahon, John Laurinaitis and WWE. In June, the judge officially stayed the lawsuit at the request of the Justice Department, which is conducting its own investigation into McMahon. The lawsuit is scheduled to be reinstated in December.
