Niecy Nash-Betts pokes fun at Travis Kelce’s “very charming” role in “Grotesquerie”
Niecy Nash-Betts had a blast working with Travis Kelce on the set of Ryan Murphy’s new series “Grotesquerie.”
“Travis was very open. He was very open if there was a hint or a suggestion,” she said of the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s performance, adding that Kelce was “very accommodating.”
Speaking to People on Monday, the Emmy winner added that “fans are going to find him very charming in this role.”
Nash-Betts even went so far as to express her admiration for the 34-year-old’s modesty during his cameo appearance on the show.
“I think it’s great that he didn’t act like he knew everything and knew everything,” she said.
The 54-year-old actress also recalled that Kelce asked her for her expert advice while working on the thriller.
“‘Tell me what I don’t know. Tell me what you think about it,'” Nash-Betts recalled the NFL star asking.
Of course, she wasn’t the only one who was happy to have Kelce on the set of “Grotesquerie.” She also remembered how the whole crew raved about Taylor Swift’s boyfriend.
“It was funny because I saw people’s reaction to him before I could really understand him,” Nash-Betts said.
“All the guys – those big guys on set, the lighting guys, the transpo (sic) – they were all just fangirls the whole time. And I was like, ‘Oh my God, guys!'”
Although Travis was not at the show’s premiere in New York City on Monday, his mother, Donna Kelce, 71, spoke to Page Six and raved about her son’s acting debut.
“Oh, it’s so great,” the proud 71-year-old mother told us on the red carpet. “Just seeing your kids doing what they absolutely love, and hopefully he likes that!”
Donna even revealed that Travis had been thinking about entering the world of television for some time.
“I know he wanted to try it (acting), so we’ll see how it goes,” she said.
Travis’ mother shared how the Super Bowl champion is doing amid his spectacular romance with Swift.
“He’s a good guy. Really. He’s good,” Donna said. “He’s kind. He’s generous. And from what I understand, so is she.”
The 34-year-old pop star and Travis were first linked in September 2023 and made their relationship public that same month after she attended one of his football games.
