Player of the game: Devin Woodring. In his third career start, Woodring impressed against one of the best teams in Class 6A-II while keeping his composure. The Titans senior quarterback threw for 145 yards and a touchdown and also rushed for 36 yards to help Carl Albert get off to a 3-0 start to the season.
Key moment: After the Titans defense forced their first three-and-out of the second half, Carl Albert took over and tried to score points. A 17-yard touchdown run by inspirational running back Caden Davis midway through the third quarter sealed the Pioneers’ hopes of a second-half comeback. With his 36 yards and two touchdowns, Davis was a driving force behind the team’s victory.
Reading option: The Titans defense held Stillwater to 102 total yards on the night, forcing its third consecutive shutout of the year. OU freshman and Carl Albert defensive back Trystan Haynes played a big role in limiting Stillwater’s offense, as he limited the Pioneers’ top target, Deakon Jones, to just two catches for four yards.
