Miami Heat signs former Phoenix Suns player

PHOENIX – Former Phoenix Suns forward Nassir Little is signing a one-year deal with the Miami Heat, NBA on TNT insider Chris Haynes reports.

Previously, Little coached for the Heat and other teams such as the Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics.

Little, 24, entered the league in 2019 as a first-round pick of the Portland Trail Blazers. He played there until 2023 before being traded to the Suns before last season.

Little was part of the massive three-way deal that sent Grayson Allen and Jusuf Nurkic to Phoenix, while Deandre Ayton returned to Portland and Damian Lillard was sent to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Little played 45 games for the Suns last season, starting twice and playing 10.2 minutes per game. On a star-studded roster, Phoenix struggled to find enough playing time for Little.

He was released by the Suns on August 27.

Now Little is heading to South Beach to play under Erik Spoelstra, one of the league’s most respected coaches.

Miami also has a strong lineup – names like Terry Rozier, Tyler Herro, Jimmy Butler, Nikola Jovic and Bam Adebayo will ensure that the Heat will once again be dangerous in the postseason.

The Suns themselves are looking forward to the upcoming 2024-25 season with new head coach Mike Budenholzer and their star trio of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal returning for a second year together.
