Scratch cards worth $1 million sold in Pennsylvania

Not a bad day for lottery news in Pennsylvania.

Just recently it was reported that a $1 million scratch-off ticket was sold in Lancaster County. Now there is a new report of another big-winning ticket being sold in Adams County.

A press release from the Pennsylvania Lottery confirmed that a lucky winner recently purchased a $1 million scratch-off ticket at a Turkey Hill gas station at 639 Main St. in McSherrsytown.

According to the press release, players can purchase Jumbo Bucks tickets for $10 each. These tickets “are distributed randomly, meaning the Pennsylvania Lottery and its retailers do not know where the winning tickets are being sold,” the press release states.

The press release goes on to say that the lottery will not know where the winning tickets were sold until after the prize has been claimed. Turkey Hill in McSherrystown will receive a $5,000 bonus as the ticket sales location.

Lottery players are reminded that they have one year to claim a scratch card prize before it expires. It is strongly recommended that you sign the back of a winning ticket immediately and check the lottery website to see whether or not you have won yourself.
