Did a poor week of training contribute to the Dallas Cowboys’ problems against the Baltimore Ravens?

ARLINGTON – The Cowboys’ slow start to the offense and defense may be due to a poor week of practice.

Coach Mike McCarthy mentioned it after a 28-25 loss to the Ravens on Sunday.

“Our training – sometimes you’re really well prepared and you don’t play as well as you want to, and sometimes you’re not as well prepared and you play better than you thought you could,” McCarthy said. “I think this week our preparation was pretty much in line with how we play.”

The Cowboys trailed 21-6 at halftime after scoring three times in the first half, but a 19-point fourth quarter brought the Cowboys back into the game.

Quarterback Dak Prescott said he spoke to his head coach about a poor practice on Thursday.

“I start with myself,” Prescott said. “I didn’t have a good practice, I think it was on Thursday. I even told coach that I feel better when I’m alone. I can control it. I can get over it. I’m going to make that change and make that difference. It’s also the feeling that I need to make sure other people are doing what they should be doing. Make sure other people aren’t ruminating on a bad practice report, myself included.”
