Dayton Raiola, brother of Nebraska’s starting quarterback, signs with the Huskers

Another Raiola is on his way to Nebraska.

Dayton Raiola, the younger brother of Huskers freshman QB Dylan Raiola, joined Matt Rhule’s 2026 recruiting class on Sunday. Dayton, 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, is a three-star recruit according to Rivals and plays quarterback at Buford (Georgia) High School.

The elder Raiola, a five-star talent in the Class of 2024, returned to Nebraska last December after initially committing to Ohio State and later transferring to Georgia. Dylan ultimately signed with Nebraska, where his father Dominic was an offensive lineman from 1997-2000 and his uncle Donovan is the current O-line coach. Through the Huskers’ first four games, Dylan has thrown for 967 yards on a 72.2 percent completion rate, while also throwing eight touchdowns and two interceptions.

The younger Raiola has long been considered a near-certainty to play for Nebraska. The Huskers offered him two years ago when Dayton was a freshman at Arizona. He played on the Buford (Georgia) junior team a year ago and has worked with Dylan for years, receiving the same guidance from their father’s former NFL quarterbacks and others who coach at a high level.

Dayton is left-handed and performed well at a training camp in Nebraska in June, showing a strong arm and mobility. Like Dylan, Dayton has played baseball at a high level.

He is the first to commit to Nebraska in the class of 2026. The Huskers have two quarterbacks committed for the class of 2024 – the elder Raiola and Danny Kaelin of Bellevue, Nebraska. Four-star quarterback prospect TJ Lateef of Orange, California, has committed for the class of 2025.

Nebraska remains active in recruiting 2026 prospect Michael Clayton of Sanford (Florida) Seminole and may take two quarterbacks from the class.

The Raiolas’ older sister, Taylor, a former TCU volleyball player, works in Nebraska’s recruiting department.
