Lily Collins recently revealed her favorite look from season 4 of Emily in Paris, including an unusual choice of shoes. In an interview with People, the actress talked about her favorite outfit from the second part of the final season, which documents a significant change in Emily’s style upon her arrival in Rome. Collins recalled two particular outfits at the end of the season that were a real departure from Emily’s previous style.

In an interview with People on September 10, Lily Collins revealed her favorite outfit from Part 2 of the last season and hinted at what the outfit will look like at the end of the episode. “I think there’s an outfit in the two episodes at the end that was a vintage Alaïa skirt and a white collared shirt, flats and a little scarf,” she said. This time around, the character’s choice of flats seems to be a real change, as Collins pointed out.

The actress continued: “For me, it felt like a real departure for Emily, more Italian, more holiday vibe and more practical to walk around in flats. It just felt cinematic.” Collins revealed that the inspiration for her unique look in the second installment came from the films of Audrey Hepburn. The “Emily in Paris” cast member also looked to two specific film looks.

Collins said, “(Part) 2 includes the ‘Charade’ look on top of the mountain, and of course ‘Roman Holiday’.” In one scene, the actress wears a fur coat with matching hat and sunglasses, like Hepburn in the 1963 film “Charade.” The Roman Holiday look inspired another scene in which her character Emily wears a timeless skirt and scarf.

Collins described the process behind the looks: “And (costume designer Marylin Fitoussi) always tries to take inspiration but give it an Emily touch. And I think for us, that’s exactly what we did. We made images that were so iconic, so it’s important to always have that touch.”

“Emily in Paris” Season 4 Part 2 can be streamed on Netflix. The streamer recently announced the renewal and return of the series for Season 5.
