Falcons make questionable final game decision during Week 3 loss to Chiefs

The Atlanta Falcons had a great opportunity to inflict the Kansas City Chiefs’ first loss of the season. Football on Sunday eveningbut they narrowly failed after their final drive of the game stalled.

With less than a minute left on the clock, the Falcons had the ball in the red zone and were down five points. On fourth-and-2, Kirk Cousins’ lack of mobility was on display as the team opted to give the ball to Bijan Robinson on the outside instead of tucking it in and trying to sling it up the middle.

It seemed like a perfect opportunity for a quarterback sneak, as it took him less than two feet to reach the first-down marker. Instead, Robinson was swallowed up in the backfield after Kansas City’s defensive line won the battle up front.

The Chiefs defense made a great stop, but football fans on social media wondered why the Falcons decided to run outside when they only needed a short lead.
