Macklemore chants “Fuck America” to cheers at a concert benefiting a UN agency linked to Hamas

According to a video shared on X of his recent performance titled “Palestine Will Live Forever,” rapper Macklemore shouted “F— America” to a concert audience in Seattle.

“Straight up, say it. I’m not going to stop you. I’m not going to stop you,” Macklemore said, seemingly alluding to the crowd’s chants. “Yeah, F— America,” the Grammy winner said, drawing cheers from the crowd.

The video was shared by journalist Cam Higby on X. Macklemore, a 41-year-old rapper born Benjamin Hammond Haggerty in Kent, Washington, had promoted a “Palestine Will Live Forever Festival” on his Facebook page.

He said proceeds from the event, held at the Seward Park Amphitheater, would go to various groups, including the controversial United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

Israeli officials have stated that UNRWA is closely linked to Hamas in the Gaza Strip. The UN itself announced in August that nine UNRWA staff members would be dismissed for possible involvement in the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.

Fox News Digital reached out to representatives for Macklemore for comment, but they did not immediately respond.

Macklemore released an anti-Israel song in May called “Hind’s Hall,” which refers to the Columbia University building that was occupied by students and renamed in honor of a 6-year-old Palestinian girl killed in the Israel-Gaza war. The song praised the anti-Israel encampments and protests on college campuses across the country and called out President Biden, police and the music industry.

The rapper released a second version of the song this month, in which he now denounces Vice President Kamala Harris, who became the Democratic presidential candidate in July after Biden withdrew from the race.

Macklemore appears to be threatening that Harris’ support for Israel will cause her to lose support in the swing state of Michigan, where a large Arab and Muslim community lives in Dearborn.

“Hey Kamala, I don’t know if you’re listening, but stop sending money and guns or you won’t win Michigan. We are undecided and hell no, we will not change our position just because the whole world is going Palestinian,” the song goes.

The music video shared on X features a clip of Representative Ilhan Omar (D-Michigan) performing these lyrics. The song also includes the anti-Semitic chant “From the River to the Sea,” which calls for the destruction of Israel.

Macklemore, whose net worth is estimated at $25 million according to Celebrity Net Worth, also declares in the second version of the song, “Capitalism is killing us, we can’t afford it” and sings, “There will never be freedom by pleading with the Zionists.”

Macklemore has increasingly spoken out about conflicts in the Middle East. Last month, he canceled a concert planned for October in Dubai, citing the United Arab Emirates’ role “in the ongoing genocide and humanitarian crisis” in Sudan, which the group allegedly supports paramilitary forces fighting government troops there, according to The Associated Press.

In an Instagram post at the time, Macklemore said a number of people had called on him to “cancel the show in solidarity with the Sudanese people and boycott doing business with the UAE because of the role they play in the ongoing genocide and humanitarian crisis.”

Teny Sahakian of Fox News and the Associated Press contributed to this report.
