For Miranda Lambert and her husband Brendan McLoughlin, it was over five well-documented, blissful years of marriage.
The two are usually never seen without each other, as they go everywhere together and are always photographed smiling and holding hands. The country star regularly compliments her husband… well, most of the time anyway.
Lambert stopped at the Taste of Country Nights Studio, where she revealed some details about her love life with Brendan: They actually have Do fight sometimes.
In a new interview for the Taste of Country Nights: On request Podcast, Lambert admits that driving with her husband – a former NYPD officer – isn’t always fun.
“Oh God. We just… tilt. It’s just like this: Can couples sit in the car together?” she says.
It turns out that McLoughlin drives, well, like a former cop.
“He’s driving like a cop in New York City and we’re just in Green Hills, in Nashville,” Lambert says. “I’m like, ‘What are we doing here?'”
The “Wranglers” singer is actually surprised that he didn’t give her a ticket.
“He judges my parking and it’s so stressful,” she says of her time behind the wheel, recalling a story about towing her Airstream trailer.
“Two summers ago, I took the whole of July off and we traveled to Colorado, Montana, Wyoming and Utah,” Lambert recalls.
“When we got the trailer, he had never driven a trailer before. He’s from the city. So I drove for the first six months we had the trailer.”
“Then he started driving, and he’s really good at it,” she says, laughing. “So we argued less… but I still judge him.”
Lambert just released a new album this month. Postcards from Texas is her first project since leaving the record label she has worked for for over 20 years. “Wranglers” is the first single.
