Vikings’ Sam Darnold impresses JJ McCarthy and NFL fans with 4 TDs in win over Texans | News, scores, highlights, stats and rumors

The Minnesota Vikings remained undefeated on Sunday after another outstanding performance from quarterback Sam Darnold.
The offseason addition had 181 passing yards and four touchdowns as Minnesota defeated the Houston Texans, a team many expect to go deep into the postseason this year.
Darnold hasn’t been a regular starter since the 2022 season, when he played with the Carolina Panthers, but was called upon to lead the Vikings after Kirk Cousins left as a free agent and first-round pick JJ McCarthy suffered a season-ending injury before the start of the year.
So far he has been impressive in Minnesota.

The last time Darnold threw more than 10 touchdowns in a season was in his second year in the league in 2019 with the New York Jets. Now, just three games into the year, he is just two touchdowns away from breaking the double-digit mark.
The former third-rounder posted 208 passing yards and two touchdowns in a win over the New York Giants in Week 1 before surprising the San Francisco 49ers with 268 passing yards and two touchdowns.
The Vikings face another test next week when they face the Green Bay Packers, and Darnold will look to continue his magical season.
