A lottery ticket that won the grand prize was recently sold at a convenience store near Interstate 26, South Carolina Education Lottery officials said in a news release.

The person who purchased a Palmetto Cash 5 ticket before Thursday night’s drawing won $160,000 – the game’s most recent jackpot, the press release said.

The search for the winner is now underway.

The winning Palmetto Cash 5 ticket was sold at an upstate store, the Sai Mart at 498 E. Blackstock Road, officials said. That’s in Spartanburg County, near Exit 22 on I-26.

The winning numbers for Thursday’s draw were 3, 11, 19, 21 and 36.

The Palmetto Cash 5 ticket matched all five numbers drawn, winning the game’s top prize, officials said.

According to lottery authorities, the winner has 180 days to claim the six-figure prize.

The winner is afforded a certain degree of privacy because South Carolina is one of eleven states – along with Arizona, Delaware, Georgia, Kansas, Maryland, New Jersey, North Dakota, Ohio, Texas and Virginia – where lottery winners can remain anonymous.

“Sign the back of your ticket and place it in a safe place until you are ready to collect your prize,” lottery officials said.

The odds of winning Palmetto Cash 5, worth $160,000, are 1:850,668, according to the press release.

Sai Mart receives a commission on the sale of the winning ticket when it is handed over to lottery officials.

The jackpot was hit seven times before Thursday’s win, officials said. The Palmetto Cash 5 jackpot for Sunday night’s drawing is $120,000.

It costs $2 to purchase a Palmetto Cash 5 ticket and drawings are held daily at 6:59 p.m., officials said.
