Emmerdale’s Kris Mochrie has announced that he and fiancé Max Parker have set a wedding date and will tie the knot in August 2025.

The 39-year-old soap star shared the news on his Instagram stories after 32-year-old Max popped the question to her in a sweet marriage proposal on the beach two years ago.

The attractive actors play brothers in the ITV soap, with Kris as Lee Posner and Max as Luke Posner.

In his Instagram stories, Kris wrote next to a wedding ring emoji: “365 days and 365 things to do.”

Although they never appeared on stage together in Emmerdale, a friendship developed backstage and then a romance blossomed.

When Max announced the news of their engagement in 2022, he wrote on Instagram: “He deserves the world but the best thing I could do was promise him my heart. HE SAID YES.”

The couple celebrated with champagne on the beach and shared a sweet kissing snapshot in the post.

Max also posted a short video in which he gets down on one knee with the ring before they celebrate together with a kiss and a hug.

Kris wrote in his engagement post: “The beautiful soul who is my best friend asked me to marry him yesterday. I can’t describe how happy I am.”

“I love him so much, we laugh every day and I am so grateful that he came into my life.”

“I had no idea! But it was just perfect… I mean, that movie says it all. Max had asked my mom about some jewelry that my grandma had. Mom still had my grandma’s locket and he had it engraved into the center of the engagement ring on the inside. So special.

“Thank you to the job that brought us together, to our incredible family and friends. And to the incredible love from all of you. I am a very happy boy. WE ARE GETTING MARRIED!!!!”

This comes after Max shared his coming out story in 2020 after confirming his romance with co-star Kris, claiming, “I feel comfortable now knowing I’m gay!”

Over the summer, the couple sparked speculation about a relationship when they went on a rainy hike and shared a snap of themselves sunbathing together on Instagram.

Kris and Max met on the soap and although they never appeared in a scene together, a friendship and later a romance developed backstage.

Speaking about his relationship with Kris, Max revealed to Attitude magazine that although they met on the set of Emmerdale, he only started sending him direct messages when he discovered Kris on Tinder.

Max said of their first meeting: “He was filming his last day on set… That was the first time we met. I didn’t know he was gay, but I remember thinking he was very handsome…

“Later I thought, ‘I’ve never tried Tinder, so I’ll give it a try.’ So I went on Tinder and saw him pop up and thought, ‘OK, that’s a sign’ – so I made the first move by sending a message on Instagram…

“I didn’t know he was gay and I didn’t know he liked me, but then he did.”
