Will Mark Andrews play today? Ravens TE lasted 3 quarters against Cowboys without a catch

Although the Ravens have a significant lead over the Cowboys in Week 3, one of their key players on offense has failed to make much of an impression.

Baltimore, which has lost its first two games of the season, will be looking to bounce back from its early-season struggles with a win in Dallas. After being crushed by the Saints last week, the Cowboys are also hungry for a chance to bounce back from a tough loss.

Although the Ravens took a 28-6 lead in the fourth quarter, TE Mark Andrews’ name was not mentioned often.

Here are the details on Andrews’ status in Week 3 against the Cowboys and how that performance fits into his start to the 2024 season.

Is Mark Andrews playing today?

Yes, Andrews is playing in Baltimore’s Week 3 game against Dallas, but he failed to catch a ball or target a pass from Lamar Jackson through the first three quarters.

This continues a quiet start to the season for Andrews, who had just 14 receiving yards in Week 1 but had a solid 51-yard performance in Week 2. However, with the Ravens offense taking a 21-6 lead into halftime, they looked for other ways to generate power.

Baltimore relied on its running game against the Cowboys, as Jackson had just 10 completions in the first half that went to seven different players. Spreading the ball around seems to have been an offensive game plan for Baltimore, but Andrews didn’t follow that game plan.

TE Isaiah Likely has also broken out early this season. With the emergence of Zay Flowers at wide receiver, there is also a chance that Andrews will not be the target at the tight end position this season that he once was.

In the first half against Dallas, Likely had five more snaps than Andrews, according to Michael F. Florio of the NFL Network.

Andrews’ presence in the Ravens’ offense is usually significant, so expect him to be more prominent in the fourth quarter against the Cowboys and beyond.
