The San Francisco 49ers have a “next man up” mentality.
With Deebo Samuel out of the lineup, wide receiver Jauan Jennings was ready to fill the void.
The 27-year-old caught three touchdown passes in his team’s game against the Los Angeles Rams and had 102 receiving yards by the third quarter, ensuring that Samuel’s absence was not too noticeable.
Both fans and Samuel himself celebrated Jennings’ groundbreaking performance on social media.

Jennings’ three touchdowns were more than he had in 2022 and 2023 combined. He signed a two-year, $15.39 million contract extension in the offseason, showing why he was worth keeping.
He entered the game with seven catches for 101 yards and his performance will significantly increase those numbers. With Samuel expected to be out for a few weeks due to the calf strain, the 49ers are hoping Jennings can continue that performance and continue to contribute to the offense.
